Distribution of slots in the 42nd PZU ORLENWarsaw Marathon – the rules
- Due to legal and organizational reasons the scheme of the race will be 4 heats of 250 slots each (1,000 slots total):
- Heat 1, starts September 26, 2020 (Saturday), 4:00 p.m., cut-off time: 6 hrs 30 mins
- Heat 2, starts September 27, 2020 (Sunday), 12:00 a.m., cut-off time: 6 hrs 30 mins
- Heat 3, starts September 27, 2020 (Sunday), 8:00 a.m., cut-off time: 4 hrs
- Heat 4, starts September 27, 2020 (Sunday), 1:00 p.m., cut-off time: 6 hrs.
- The number of heats and slots in each heat may vary due to any future changes in the laws applicable to the organization of sports events.
- The total of 1,000 slots will be distributed in the following way:
- 843 slots will be distributed among the runners who have paid the entry fee by August 9, 2020 and the pacers of the race;
- 11 slots will go to the finishers of all past runnings of the Warsaw Marathon;
- 66 slots will go to #BiegamDobrze charity project who have raised the minimum amount;
- 80 slots will go to the guests of the Marathon.
- Runners with numbers on the start list will be asked to fill in a questionnaire available on their individual profile on 11 and 12 August 2020; where they will be able to officially declare participation in the 42nd PZU ORLEN Warsaw Marathon or transfer their entry to 2021. A failure to fill in the questionnaire will be understood as declaration of participation in 42nd PZU ORLEN Warsaw Marathon.
- If the number of slots is bigger than the number of runners who will declare participation in the questionnaire, the slots will be distributed among all these declaring participation and additional registration will be opened.
- If the number of declarations is bigger than the number of slots, they will be subject to a draw.
- The draw will be held on August 13, 2020 by a computerized system that will select 843 winners.
- The winners of the draw will be able to pick a heat on the first-come-first-served basis. The beginning of the heat selection process will be notified by a text messaged with at least 6-hrs notice.
- Individuals with paid entry who will not be offered a slot will be able to get a full refund.
